Will this proposed print network work?

2 Computers in a room both running vista x64. Both have access to a printer on the server elsewhere in the office. Wireless network.
I was thinking of a new printer in the same room as the 2 pc's.
A local setup would work. Printer connected to 1 pc and shared.
The printer i wa thinking of getting has beside usb an ethernet port.
So my thoughts where to install the printer on each pc via usb then disconnect usb and reconnect each pc to a switch with the printer connected to the swith also.
Will the 2 pc's be able to print , scan etc?

The pc the printer is hooked to [USB] can scan but not many all in ones can scan from any other machine.
But you can get a print server that uses the network or the usb to connect to the printers. But may not be able to scan then. Something I would check to see if it is able to do that.

You shouldn't need to unplug the USB at all, you can choose which printer you want to print to from the normal print dialog in Windows. There shouldn't be any problem at all with having a USB and an Ethernet printer connected at the same time.
