Web-based messenger software
Can someone provide me with a good list to use, like MSN, Yahoo, etc...

I'm a big believer in simplicity. One site will work for AIM, Yahoo, MSN and Google.

It is a question as to which one your friends are on. If most are on the AOL IM and you pick MSN, you will not be able to chat with each other.
I have friends who are on AOL and Yahoo so like Han I use one program that can handle them all. I like Trillian though it does not yet handle Google Talk. When using Linux instead of Windows I like Pidgin. Both of these programs allow me to be on more than one service at a time with out having to run extra programs.

any web based ones...all client software seems to have the ports disabled.

Meebo is only web based. There is no client on the PC...
