Outlook Mail Notification annoyance
Not a biggy, just wondering if I'm going mad, or perhaps someone else has noticed this recently.
Outlook 2003 is set to notify me when new mail arrives (plays a sound and shows mail icon the the notification area).
I'm sure it never used to notify me when the 'new' mail was junk. Now it does.
If I'm not mad, then a Microsoft Update must've done this. I'd say this has been happening for a few weeks or more, so it must be last month's MS Patch Tuesday that caused it.
Vote now - mad, incompetent or sane?

I have one of these t-shirts. Be darn if I remember what I did to fix it...But the good news is that it can be fixed...(will take a look at office pc when I get to the office)
Course it only works on junk mail that you've previously sent to the junk mail folder. If the junk mail is hitting you're Inbox - it's new mail and you'll get the notification...
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Try this:
Delivery status notifications are unexpectedly generated in your personal folders (.pst) file after you install security updates 925938 and 929969 for Outlook 2003

It's always done this. Believe it or not this is the reason that I stopped using Outlook. I set whatever mail program I use for my work e-mail to check for new mail every minute. I like to stay on top of correspondence for work. Outlook notified me for every single junk e-mail or e-mail that was filtered into the trash by some rule I created. That made it impossible to get any work done because I constantly had to check to see if the mail was legitimate or not.
There is nothing to fear, but life itself.

Outlook 2003 doesn't notify me on new mail that I have previously set to the junk mail folder.
