Re:Java, etc
Hello Broni, have downloaded two Beta downloads for Java, see here http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/ea.jsp two downloads. 10, 14.
Have had a look in start up for Threatfire, it is listed, still not showing.
Tried Uninstalling Ad-Aware through Safe Mode, would not there either, said something Re:Windows Installer, a problem. I managed to Delete the Folder in Safe Mode for Lavosoft.
Thanks, GEP

No. You didn't follow my instructions....
You go here: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp, and download:
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6
When you done with downloading, and installing the above, go back to Add\Remove, and uninstall ANY other Java entry.
Have had a look in start up for Threatfire, it is listed
This is good. As for the icon, make sure, your taskbar is not set to "Hide inactive icons".

Re:Java, etc
Hello Broni, Big, Big problem, cannot UNINSTALL The previous Java downloads, or Ad-Aware. It says, "The Windows Installer Service could not be Accessed, This can occur if running in Safe Mode (which I Am Not) or the Windows installer is Incorrectly installed", never had a problem before with uninstalling this bad, any ideas???
My Wife's windows gets the threatfire icon in the Systray.
Thanks, GEP

No, you don't have to worry too much. Java versions install alongside, not on a top of each other, so, as long, as you installed the newest version from MY link (DID YOU?), the old versions just occupy space.
Anyway, we can try to resolve it. Let's start with getting fresh copy of Windows Installer: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893803
When you're done, try to uninstall other Javas again.
Don't worry about Ad-aware, at this point. It's minor issue.
