Gateway solo 9300
I picked up this Gateway on eBay. I like it but the touch pad is very sensitive. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity? The operating system is Windows 2000 pro.Thanks.

Gateway has Solo 9300 Touchpad drivers for Windows NT, 95, 98 and 98SE. Don't see any for 2000.

Go into Control Panel | Mouse and see if there are any touchpad settings in there. Some laptops/notebooks will have them, some won't. (My Dell Latitude does.)
Try SpywareDr's link as well. On several occasions I've found Windows NT (4.0, not 3.51) drivers will work in Windows 2000 - depends on the device.

Thanks for the replies. I followed the link above but found the driver was not compatible with windows 2000 pro. there was a link to download a gateway utility that would scan your laptop and download the needed drivers. That didn't work out either. I also, checked the control panel, nothing there for a touch pad under mouse. So I guess I'm stuck with a sensitive touch pad.

Here's a long shot: run a HijackThis log and look for the touchpad manufacturer there; if you find it, go to their website and see if they have any drivers that'll work. If you're not sure yourself which company it is, post the log here and we should be able to spot it IF it shows as a running process.

I think you can follow lgbpop's suggestion to set your laptop.
