Is keyfinder a Trojan
I downloaded keyfinder 1.51 to detect my WinXP CD key as I lost the sticker. The AVG recognises it as a Trojan. Is this program safe or malicious?
Thanks for your advice.

It's safe. It's only being flagged because it could be used by someone to steal someone elses Windows key.
With this sort of program I always prefer to download it from a reliable source such as the actual maker or a place like download.com, snapfiles etc.
because there's no actual way to virus test it since it would raise false alarms in nearly every a/v.

Another good reliable download source is MajorGeeks; PCMagazine's downloads are also reliable. Fink's right - keyfinders are ideal malware vehicles, since most people using them know they'll set off an A/V and will deliberately ignore the warning. Be careful!
