    Page numbering problem with Word 2000

    Long document - page numbering set up in footer in format "page n of nn". It shows OK on screen - page 1 of 27, page 2 of 27, ... page 27 of 27. But when printing it comes out as page 1 of 1, page 2 of 2, ... page 26 of 26, page 27 of 27.

    What is going wrong here??? Any solutions?

    I believe this was a known bug in Word 2000. Do you have all the Service Packs and hotfixes installed?

    Hot fixes were installed ages ago, and I have printed similar documents without this problem on many occasions. I have just invited my wife (a much more experienced Word user than me) to have a look. She opened Page Preview, numbering looked OK there too, hit Print, ... and everything is OK now
