[RESOLVED] Xbox Live connection problem
Any Xbox 360 experts out there? I am trying to get Xbox Live working with my wireless router. The Xbox can connect to the router, but when it runs down the list of network tests it says "ICMP failed" so Xbox Live will not work. My router is a Trendnet TEW-432BRP. The router works fine otherwise.

I have a similar system. I have a wired network but with a wireless access point which is for the xbox 360.
I had a connection problam like yours and video was dropping out.
The problam was the wireless access point was to far from the xbox.
So i moved it closer and up high. No more problam.

Xboxes are much happier with a wired connection if you can work one.
Otherwise its hard to get a good signal to them

The signal strength is fine. The problem is in the router; either I need to change some settings or it is simply incompatible with XBL. The router is not on Microsoft's recommended list, but that list has only major brands like Linksys and D-Link. Trendnet tech support is useless.

I presume you have one of those xbox dongles to receive the signal?

But of course!
As a matter of fact, it was working just fine when I had an 802.11b wireless router. But no, I had to go and upgrade!

Fixed it!
I got it working. I was reading the MS Xbox support site, and it said some routers need to have UPnP turned off to work with Xbox live. So I tried it, and lo and behold, it worked!
Happy New Year everyone!
