[XP] Two phone lines, do I need two filters?

The place I am moving in to has two lines inside, which are split from the single line to the house.
I have an outlet in the kitchen and one inside a linen cupboard.
My idea is to place my modem and router in the cupboard and obviously the phone in the kitchen.
Will I need to place a filter on both outlets to prevent interference from my Broadband connection?

My understanding is you only need to filter the line with the phone on it.
But you might want to contact your provider because there are variences as per: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/503
    Stupid question? No such thing!

When I had DSL at my daughter's place the filter was on the line I used for the phone. There was no filter on the line going to the modem.

No worries. I haven't got the line connected yet, but I will see what happens.
    Thank you.

You have to have a filter on every device that is connected. Phones, set-top boxes such as PVRs, alarms, etc., go into the phone side of the filter, and the DSL router goes into the DSL side. It is very important that you do this, having an unfiltered device on the line is one of the biggest causes of DSL problems, especially at higher speeds.

Just installed a DSL that has a filter for the pc.

    Centurytel was the provider.

First one of them I have had in my hands.

    Just follow the boxed instructions.

My understanding is a filter for every phone, modem or device [or single phone line with multiple connections] that does not use the upper fequencies that DSL modems do.

Nope, that's why the vast majority of filters have a DSL port as well as a phone port. It is most important that the DSL modem is plugged in via a filter. As ADSL2+ becomes more commonplace then filtering is even more critical.

If that were true, there would be no point in supplying filters with a modem port on them:
