New windows XP loaded - how to rid the Admin password prompt after boot?

I reloaded Win XP SP2 on a used PC I aquired and have gone to run control userpasswords2 and unchecked the password box but when I power on or reboot the PC it prompts me still for a password for the Administrator. How do I get the PC to bypass this?

Is this a Windows 2000 style login box? If so, go to Control Panel>User Accounts and check "Use the Welcome screen".

My user screen in ctl panel looks like this. My dead PC that I loaded the same XP SP2 didn't come up this way. Why would it differ. The other PC asked me if I wanted individual user icons on the desktop. This PC didn't. Wierd.

Click on "Change the way users log on or off" and then check "Use the welcome screen".

Great, now what's happening. I see the admin logon icon flick by and now the PC is sitting at Windows XP Windows is starting up. It's locked up. I powered it off and did a F10 and went into setup and then a ESC and got the Admin ICON on the screen with the pword prompt. I think I needed to disable offline file usage.

Nope, that didn't work either. It's hung up again at Windows XP Windows is starting up message.

Going into safe mode and deselecting Use Welcome screen and deselect Use fast User Switching..

Now it still comes up and says Logon message, the system could not log you on. Make sure your User name and domain are correct, then type your passord again. Letters in passowrd must be typed using the correct case. So I click on ok, then I have to type in my Administrator passoword.

How do I make XP skip the above paragraph. I didn't have all this trouble with the last PC a couple of weeks ago before the motherboard blew.

Can't I just power up and have all the logon icon skipped?

ok, don't ask me how but I got the PC to power up and skip any logon screens/icons. I have both boxes checked in user panel - Use the welcome screen and Use fast user switching. Is that all I had to do?
