Spybot 1.5.1 advice please!

Have you downloaded Spybot 1.5.1 and used it yet please? Any problems or issues? Does one need to uninstall version 1.4 before the instulation of the new one?

Version 1.1.5.1.15 was slow to get started on at least a couple of setups but upgrading to 1.1.5.1.16 solved the problem.

You don't have any tricks for getting the new Spybot to load any faster, do you? I'm tempted to go back to ver 1.4.

No, sure don't. On the PC/setup I'm on right now it's taking 22 seconds from the time I click the program until I see any indication that something is trying to load on the screen. And I agree, that's a bit too long. Would prefer to see *something* within a couple of seconds or so, even it was a simple splash screen. As it is, it leaves you wondering if you even clicked the icon, if your click was somehow ignored, or maybe an imminent hang/crash/BSOD is fixin to happen.

I've looked into this slow startup problem a bit further. It appears to have been quite widely reported already - see this thread. There is a fix available (here) which I have installed, and I can confirm that it reduces the startup time back to something like ver 1.4

Yep, that upgrade to version 1.1.5.1.16 fixes it. Thanks! Takes maybe 2 seconds now.

Extract the "spybotsd.exe" to "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy" and "domains.sbs" to "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Includes". (If asked if you want to overwrite, select Yes).

Didn't uninstall the previous version on several PCs and it's working fine, (after the manual upgrade to 1.1.5.1.16).
