    VPN Question

I am running W2K Pro and I have a dial-up ISP connection. Can I set up VPN and connect to a server with dial-up?

Yes, I know that DSL is the preferred way to VPN but can I get it to work with dial-up?

    Cheers,

    Linda

If you mean dialup Internet access (dial an ISP, then connect to the VPN server), it's identical to using DSL -- the VPN server doesn't care how you got on the Internet, only that you have a connection.

If you want to dial straight into a modem on a Windows 2000 server, that's just plain dialup, not VPN. It's set up similarly, but it is a different connection type. (No access to a Win2000 or WinXP box atm, otherwise I'd be more specific.)
Safe computing is a habit, not a toolkit.
