    Need drivers for old Mobo

    I have searched high and low on the net for motherboard drivers for the following;

    Motherboard:
CPU Type Intel Pentium IIIE, 650 MHz (6.5 x 100)
    Motherboard Name MSI MS-6154VA/6163VA/6199VA
Motherboard Chipset VIA VT82C693A Apollo Pro133
    System Memory 512 MB (SDRAM)
    BIOS Type Award Modular (12/14/99)
    Communication Port Communications Port (COM1)
    Communication Port Communications Port (COM2)
Communication Port ECP Printer Port (LPT1)

All I seem to be able to get are BIOS downloads. Does anyone know where I can get them please .
I foolishly formatted and reinstalled XP on a friends pc without confirming that he had the original CD

Don't know if this is the case in this particular instance but, not all motherboards need or come with "drivers", (especially the older ones). Simply hook 'em up and hit the Go button.

PC is running ok, but I cannot install the software for a Belkin wireless card which I was able to do before formatting.
When I look in Device Manager I see the big yellow sign telling me it's not installed correctly. Thinking that I may need the network drivers or something.
Also get the same symbol next to the sound, video and game controllers, so I need sound drivers too.
I could probably get them by doing an online update from the problem pc, but unless I can get the wireless card working........
The pc has a modem installed, but I do not have a dial up account in order to use it.

Have a look here, in MSI's Archive section. Scroll down to the Slot 1 mobos. The 6163 & 6199 have driver downloads that may help.

You could also try looking up drivers by the VIA chipset route instead of by the mobo; seems to me since they're not BIOS-related, the driver should be the same regardless of mobo maker.

Crunchie, you do know installing the software comes before installing the card on most wireless cards? So, perhaps remove the card, install the software, then reinstall the card and see if the OS finds it.

I found this German site that seems to have the drivers:

All you need to know is the chipset type, in this case it's a VIA Apollo Pro 133. Like all motherboards with VIA chipsets, MSI has used VIA's drivers for all components on this motherboard. You can go to VIA's site to download the VIA driver that supports this chipset.

For such an old model, the recommendation to NOT get the most recent VIA Hyperion drivers, but the latest VIA 4 in 1 driver, version 4.43, that support older chipsets.

How to get there: http://www.viaarena.com/ , from the horizontal menubar at the top select Drivers > Microsoft Windows, select the Windows version, then Chipset or Platform Driver, then scroll down to VIA 4 in 1 section. You can see the recommended chipsets for each of the driver kits.

lgbpop, cheers, but those drivers don't appear to be for XP .
PL, thank you, at first I took a short cut and left the card in, but after I had problems I removed it and did it the correct way and it made no difference.
Sparksy and fixer, thank you, I have downloaded from both and will try them out.

Did you try the Win2K drivers? They're frequently interchangeable.
