Word printing addressee too far to the left on envelope.
Can't quite pin this one down. Word is printing the addressee about three inches too far to the left on an envelope. Checked all the settings for the envelope...everything is correct. Swapped out printers...did the same thing. Any suggestions?
To err is human. To forget to turn the NumLock on is just plain stupid.

Go to FILE, PAGE SETUP, then change your margins?
Or, check under the PAPER tab, PAPER SIZE-make sure it's set up for the envelope you're using?
Hope this helps

Shouldn't have to do that. Word automatically adjusts printing for envelopes based on the size you choose. All my settings/options are correct.

If you used another printer with the same results, either the driver is bad/corrupted or the settings are bad/corrupted.
Of course, you shouldn't have to do that, but don't forget who you're dealing with (Micro$oft).
You might also delete your NORMAL.DOT file?

TwoMoon--I do not know what version of Word you have. In Word 2007, on the Mailings tab|click Envelopes|Options and tell Word what size envelope you are using.

Using Word 2003. I've done that. Choosing #10 envelope. All settings are correct. Even clicked on Defaults in case those had become corrupted.

click Tools, Letters and Mailings, Envelopes and Labels. On that click Options. There you can set the distance from the left edge and top you want for the address - and also for the return address. I don't know if this will be permanent, probably not.

I've had this happen with Word 2000, Windows 2000, and an HP LaserJet 5000. Solution is to power off the printer (unplug, not switch), and then reset the envelope printing settings, even if they are correct.
