Sata/Pata question
Is it possible to plug in a Pata drive to my board in order to salvage data from it? I am presently running a Sata II only installation.
Is there anything specific I would need to do?
Thank you .

Yep, just make sure the PATA controller is enabled in the BIOS, and slave the ATA drive to the rig, as SATA drives have jumperless priority settings, setting the jumpered ATA drive to slave should make things troublefree boot-wise.

Also--dunno about your mobo, but some automatically give precedence to PATA drives for booting. Make sure that your BIOS's harddrive priority has your SATA HDD above the PATA slave drive, otherwise you may get a message saying the OS can't be seen.
