No problem at all. I couldn't care less if the individual is a saint or a sinner, as long as there's something that prevents that individual from being a tyrant or a Tantone.

He's funny. He completely misses the point that he has no more concrete proof that the assertions he attacks are false, than the proponents of those assertions have that they aren't false.
He's what happens when human arrogance allows the fact that our perception, and every way of measuring anything ever devised by man, are in no way perfect or absolute, to be overlooked. Therefore anything they tell us must not be taken as perfect and absolute information.

I am happy to know that you and I (and I pray the majority of others) don't share your above view JP. I agree tho; nothing trumps God---including what ever you and I, and the world of people, think.
You two seem to have a "head knocking" going on and so I will just read the words you choose to use and stay clear of this discussion. ( I hope to have learned my lessen to stay away from discussions about the above.)

Nah, I think JP and I are saying pretty much the same thing but from mutually different points of reference. Actually, it's difficult as h**l to be truly devout no matter what one's religion may be. It's been my experience that those who talk about it the most are almost as much the sinners as those who profess not to believe at all. The people who are at ease with their devotion are those - GENERALLY - who don't talk about it much if at all.
In case you're curious about what we're referring to, buf, check out this thread.

Guess my comment calmed you two down
I gotta tell ya that I wondered where the word "tantone" was used before; now I know!!
Look, it's those who think they know everything that know very little at all. Being able to speak, or take the liberty of speaking their mind without regard to other's feelings is what. additionally, freedom in the U.S. is all about. If you/they, don't believe in a Supreme Being then suppose "they" take their beliefs--or lack thereof--and move out. The Middle East calls. Leave those alone who don't and can't share your thoughts in this regard.

I never said I don't believe in a supreme being. It's religion I eschew. I still believe the government should be nondenominational and nonsectarian. Religion is not government's business. That's an individual's business.

JP/Lgbpop, I didn't intend for my post #21 to be an affront to either of you, and if it was, then I apologize. What I was trying to say was a generalized comment to all those who are living outside God's presence seem to be the ones to know how a Christian should conduct their lives.
Link to the other forum pretty well describes what I failed to describe.

As sentient lifeforms I feel it's our duty to evaluate everything around us, including each other. Or as someone else put it better than I could "the unexamined life is not worth living".
