    What is ViewPOint Media?

    What is the ViewPoint Media Player and can I uninstall it? I purchased a new PC (w/ Vista Premium) and I am really trying to clean it up. Will it effect other parts of my PC?

    It's foistware/malware...get rid of it, along with its cousin Viewpoint Manager, from Add/Remove Files in Control Panel. BTW, it didn't come bundled with your computer (at least, I sure HOPE it didn't, for your sake!) but was quietly acquired when visiting some particular website. It's easy to pick up, but it's relatively easy to remove too.

    I am using IE7...AVG Free virus...and Microsoft Vista firewall. I uninstalled it last night and so far so good...
