Viewing Pictures in Web Mail - Problem

I am inquiring for a friend of mine. Windows XP SP2. IE7. In web mail whether it is in Comcast or some other web based program is where the issue is. When opening an email that has a picture in it (not an attachment) the picture is not showing up. If you go to forward that email the picture shows up in the Forward. This is happening with him and a few of his friends. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?
I appreciate any help you can give me.
    Thanks,

Drop down and you will find the link to the graphic(s).
    Listed by name too.

And yes, that is the way comcast , ATT and @Home webmail has worked for the last 7 years.

I have received a few emails my friend sent me that I looked at in my Verizon Web mail and I could not see the photos. I did scroll to the bottom and there was no link to any of the graphics.

I then went to my Outlook and the pictures were there.

In the web mail the only thing there was the famous RED X.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?
    Thanks,

IN IE, go to Tools > Internet options> Advanced tab
Scroll down to Multimedia and put a check in Show Pictures.

If it is checked, uncheck it and reboot. Then go back in and recheck it.

Also check your Verizon preferences, maybe some control in there about showing graphics.
