Hi bullynj, welcome to VirtualDr.
Let's get rid of a few things first and see what's left. Run HiJackThis and click Scan, then check the boxes next to the following, if present:
O1 - Hosts: ::1 localhost
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O4 - Startup: YPOPs.lnk = ?
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbars\Restrictions present
...(Unless you've set these with a anti-spyware program like SpyBot's Immunize feature, have HiJackThis fix this.)
O11 - Options group: [INTERNATIONAL] International*
O11 - Options group: [TABS] Tabbed Browsing
O13 - DefaultPrefix:
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.fnismls.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.getmedianow.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.live.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.virtualearth.net
Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click Fix checked.
Next, navigate to C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\HijackThis.exe, right-click on it and rename it to analyze.exe. (I'll still call it HJT for short.) Then reboot and post a new HJT log here.

Ok a few questions before I remove those things - the local host belongs to my yahoo acct I have setup on thunderbird Im sure of that - and the same with ypops - do I have to remove them? If I do I wont be able to open my yahoo mail through thunderbird - you tell me if you say yes I will do it with no problem just wanted to say I knew what it was. I also know about the trusted sites they are sites I use for MLS - Im a realtor and without them trusted I cant do certain things in the MLS -so should I remove those too? Please let me know the no file no name thing I have no idea what that is -

If you know what those sites are and trust thenm, then by all means keep them. I usually suggest deleting things like that because it eliminates potential problem points and many times people are NOT aware of their presence.
As it turns out, after thinking more on this situation of yours it's likely that your QuickTime install brought something in with it. It wouldn't be the first time! Try going to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and uninstall QuickTime. Next, download and run CoolWebShredder and do a complete system scan; let it clean everything it digs up.
Let's see how things run after a reboot. (If you really need QuickTime it can always be reinstalled.)

It keeps coming back to that host file and the YPOPS. They can always be restored if their removal doesn't solve the problem. Run HJT and check the boxes next to the following items:
O1 - Hosts: ::1 localhost
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O4 - Startup: YPOPs.lnk = ?
With your browser(s) closed, click fix checked. (Those items go into a backup file in HJT, don't worry about them.) Then reboot and see how it goes.

After you click fix checked, the log will disappear and leave the box empty. That's normal. Just close out and reboot. See if the popups are stil there. Reboot two or three times just to test; run another HJT scan and post the log here.

Hi, I've been looking for a reply - never saw your post from Friday. Sorry about that.
Let's try something that works for another problem, but may work here as well. Go to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe and rename it analyze.exe. Then run it (I'll continue to refer to it as HJT to avoid confusion) in Safe Mode and remove the entries mentioned above. Reboot and post a new HJT log when done.
P.S. - VDr has nothing to do with bleepingcomputer.com that I know of, but I've seen them do that before.
