[RESOLVED] Dell D600 standby
I'm using a Dell D600, Win XP home, running off a power inverter in a truck.
My problem is that it recently won't come out of standby when I raise the cover. Tapping keys doesn't help.
I saw one suggestion to reload the video driver, which I did but no joy.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
TIA
Edit: I haven't recently loaded any new hardware or software. I also tried restoring to 2 previous restore points.

In Power Options in the Control Panel, what is the value listed for 'When I close the lid'?
The only barrier to knowledge is the perception that you already have it.

Sorry this took so long to get back. They don't have a lot of internet up there in the north woods.
Anyway, I tried standby in Linux and had the same "no wake" problem, so I was thinking I had a hardware problem. Remembering reading something about COM ports, I pulled all my USB devices and that fixed the problem. A little more investigation showed the culprit to be my GPS receiver.
