[Home] erratic scroll lock

there are many problems with the scroll lock. the light keeps blinking even without activation and makes my mouse cursor jump repeatedly when i position it to click or highlight, etc. (on the task bar, system tray, weblinks) or just placing the cursor anywhere.

its very difficult to type. it types multiple letters at a time when i strike only one key or more than one space when i press the space bar just once. i cant highlight a block of text because of the constant movement of the cursor (highlighting keeps getting pushed down).

i tried remapping, disabling, changing keyboards, and virus cleaning to no avail. what could possibly be the problem? is it within the keyboard itself, the connection to the tower, driver (the one i have says its working properly but isnt)... what!?? only thing that helps is if i restart my computer but then the problems just comes back anyway.

It could be a bad connection, particularly if it's a PS/2 keyboard. Try unplugging and replugging the keyboard several times, that helps to clean the connector pins.
