DVD Burning
hi,
i would like to burn some videos to DVD and then play them on my Panasonic DVD player. i have messed around previously and have no problem converting the video into Mpeg and burning it to the DVD. When i have done this previously the disks have worked on a few DVD players no problem but my Panasonic one seems to not like copied DVD's too much. It seems to have quite strict anti-piracy controls. i know from experience that some homemade DVD's do work on it but for some reason not all, or the ones I make. Is there anything different i can do so my DVD player doesn't think its illegal material when it isn't?

Try using DVD-R, not DVD RW of any kind. Worked for me, DVD +R or RW did not.

My guess is that you need to convert your video files to DVD format; essentially a program that creates .vob, .bup and .ifo files in VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS directories with which most DVD players will recognise.
I use Nero Vision which works well for me.

cheers for the replies. i don't think the problem is in converting the files as i also use nero and it will work on some DVD players just not the panasonic one. 'burgert' you might be right with your idea. i have only ever used DVD RW's and not DVD R's so i will get some and see if that works.

Have a look at the players operation manual. It will say which types it can play. Mine only accepts the slightly older format -R.

Or just post the model and Google may be able to help quicker....on the format fussiness.
