macrovision copyrighted videos
an old guy who stays close to me has Alzheimer's disease
his wife has asked me to copy a video to dvd, i dont have the software to do this or a vcr
he has a problem as he cant use the video recorder to watch his `movement video`
it would make the world of difference to this old guy if he could get it on dvd (hes a penshioner and not made of cash)
i know this might be illegal, but can any of you guys help me get round the block on copying it
fair enough if its a no-no, but i thought i would ask
(a neighbour has a video and the necessary stuff)

Well, if the video is copyright protected, copying it may not be legal, and presumably the video will have coding to prevent copying. However the subject of "copy video to dvd" is covered by the references here
http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...++video+to+dvd

If it's macrovision then it is copyprotected not just copyrighted.. more on that here (one of the links from Jim's link)

To break the copyguard would unfortunately be illegal so we can't discuss that as Spywaredr points out.
