removing grub on dual boot
hi guys. I have recently purchased a 2nd computer and have installed fedora core 6 on it. I previously had a dual boot setup on my first computer with win xp, now i have just xp on the first box. Problem is that when i deleted the linux partition, and the boot partition, my drive became unbootable. I would like to remove grub and get back to the original windows boot system. Is this possible or has it been overwritten by grub?
I do have the windows cd but its oem so i dont know whats the score with that
I was going to post in the windows xp forum but i thought id try here first, unless a mod feels it should be moved of course
Thanks

Boot the XP computer with the XP CD in the drive (with the BIOS set to boot from the CD before the HDD) and choose to run the Recovery Console; at the prompt type fixboot and Enter; then fixmbr and Enter. When done, remove the CD and reboot. Your Windows MBR should be restored.
No need to worry about GRUB, it will be overwritten eventually.

When you only ran Windows XP the active partition was booted, starting the Windows XP NTLDR. When you installed Fedora Grub was installed to your MBR giving you the option to boot Fedora or Windows. When just deleted Fedora the Grub bootloader could not find it's configuration files. Running "FIXBOOT" will allow the active partition to boot again. The Windows NTLDR will boot first again.
