[RESOLVED] Don't laugh... 1st use of I-Tunes
I hate computers! Why is it one problem always becomes at leat two
1st issue, I-tunes is downloading as m4p files which nothing (except RealPlayer) will play & the Apple forum site says page not found. It won't convert it either... something about once bought or some other Cr*p. How do I make it download as MP3?
No problem I thought, Real is Premium version, I'll convert it to MP3 - strange message syaing you have to play track first, so I did, but it still won't convert
Any suggestions... I just want to burn my tracks to CD now but nothing will do m4p files?

Dont use iTunes myself but a quick search suggests M4P files are DRM encrypted to play on iPods only. There does appear to be a codec to play it via wINAMP 5 HERE though.

With the popularity of ITunes I'm amazed there was not an instant easy answer to this one? Maybe it only downloads it that one format and it's not something I've missed!
It's still on going, with emails to and from Real's Customer Support (as it should convert them) but they are very slow, and often ask questions already answered in previous posts It's at level 2 support now.....

If record companies are hoping that Itunes and other similar sales/services are going to rescue the music business then they sure are making it difficult for themselves. They complain that no one is buying CD's anymore and are downloading illegal music so one of their solutions is to annoy their customers by creating non-intuitive, buggy software to sell the music themselves and then not properly supporting it. It also seems that every new version of Itunes is more problematic than the previous.

Ah! So simple when you think of it
Many thanks... and just as well, as Real level 2 support have come up with bu%%er all - it's been a 'real' eye opener (no pun intended ) actually, really amazing how many answers haven't actually answered the question at all, and worse still, haven't read the question either

If you are not having any luck/success, you may want to try this for a few days for free to decide if you want to buy the software. It does the job for me; converting those Itunes to MP3 although it is limited in what you can do with the trial. (It can only be done on a computer that has Itunes installed.) Good luck to you.
