[RESOLVED] Windows won't open maximized
Today windows would open maximized when I clicked on an internet link or when I clicked on one of my Favorite links. Then all of a sudden the link or favorite would only open minimized. I tried a system restore because that usally works. It will, as you know, go back to your previous settings. As you also know, when you close a window that's open maximized it will re-open maximized. I tried opening a window, maximizing it and closing it maximized, but that, too, like system restore failed to rectify the problem
Is this a registry problem? Or is something else going on? In any case, what can I do to get this fixed?

Try maximising the window, then use the Windows File>Exit/Close function to close it (and not the 'X'). Does that work?

Windows won't open maximized
I tried the Close function under file and that didn't work. The window still opens minimized.
I should note that when I open Outlook Express or Internet Explorer the two pages open maximized. It's only links in emails in Outlook Express or Favorites from the program menu that won't open maximized.
Any other ideas, anyone?

Dr Seven
It is strange that some pages open maximised and not others.
Only got one suggestion which works for some people
Open one of the problem pages and make it the correct size by dragging with the mouse. Do not use the maximise button.
Keep this page open
Open a 2nd problem page and resize it in the same way.
Close the first resized window by holding CTRL and clicking the red X
Then close the second one in the same way.

I've heard about that one too dunedin. Would've been my next shout only I couldn't get back into VDR! The next thing I was thinking of was using Tweak UI - seem to remember a setting in there that maximized windows?

Windows won't open maximized
I dragged one of the problem pages open with the mouse. I didn't see any red X, but I did close it holding down the control button and clicked the black X. As far as I can tell it is now working. But I did download autosizer. So if it happens again I can just autosizer if I have to.
Thanks!

I assume were talking about IE here? If so,go down to the IE icon on the quick link bar. Right click it and left click properties from the menu.In the window that opens look for the item "run:". Click the drop down arrow and choose 'maximized'. Apply/ok out. Now do the same with the IE icon on Start>programs(or all programs) menu. This will make sure your primary browser window(s) will open maximized, but you may have to do as others say for link windows.
Stupid question? No such thing!

Windows won't open maximized
This has been resolved. If someone would show me how to mark it resolved I will do so. ALSO! I don't get email notification and I don't have a firewall or any other reason why email doesn't come to me from here and I have it marked to notify me. Maybe some one can help me figure out why I don't get email from here? I only ask as part of this thread because I posted this a couple of days ago and I was waiting to see if this time I would get email notification.

Dr Seven
In the bar ar the top of the first post on the page click "Thread Tools" and select "Mark as resolved" from the menu.
I think you will have to PM an Administrator about not getting replies from the forum (unless one of them reads this )

Using IE open a window to the size you want is different from "Maximized" and "Minimized". Maximized means the window fills the screen, but cannot be manipulated in any way, like moving it aside or resizing it. Minimized means the window appears basically only in the Taskbar.
Opening a window in the size you want (and permitting moving/manipulating) is accomplished according to the procedure in dunedin's Post #4.
The middle blue icon in the upper right corner (to the left of the red X--Close--icon) of the IE screen will tell you whether you have a Maximized window (two superimposed squares) or a window sized to your needs (one square).
