Curious About Post Counts
Looking at this http://discussions.virtualdr.com/mem...esc&sort=posts it seems theres a sudden drop in post counts from around 1600 down to less than 100 and a whole bunch of administrators around there then a big drop to people on 9 posts ?
What's with that ?

Database corruption.
Software changes, version updates.
They've always had an impact on the member database.
Notice number of members in that list = 78,869
Virtual Dr Forums-Computer Tech Support Statistics
Threads: 207,114, Posts: 1,109,713, Members: 87,382
That's nearly 10,000 members missing from the database.
From another site of very similar size (  ) using the same software:
Member list = 84,092
Front page = 86,238
There's a couple of thousand missing (and believe me, I haven't banned THAT many  ).
We don't see the same sort of corruption in post counts though.
I remember this for example.
And this is when it happened.
Hmmm,
2003 10,000 vs 65,000
2007 86,238 vs 87,382

Most strange almost like it's filtered or something.
And all the above have posted recently, so they must be able to log in.

Banned users won't appear in that list, nor will users who never activated their accounts. That easily explains the missing 10k

Well what about all the users I linked too ?
They're all active and don't appear.

All Nick is pointing out is that there appears to be corruption in the member list page.
Do an advanced member search for all members with between 10 and 1500 posts. Tell me how many you see.
Ignore "post counts" as a filter for a minute, just do an andvanced member search for any of teh 5 member names Nick listed. They don't come up.
Conclusion - member list/search is broken.

There's no corruption, just a usergroup that wasn't shown on member list. It's been corrected

And now the count has gone back up again
