IM install on USB flash drive
I have several USB thumb/flash drives ranging in size from 256MB to 2 GB, and I have ordered but not received an 8 GB which I am eagerly anticipating.
I thought it would be nice to use the 2GB for installing mobile applications such as FireFox. That way, when I am on the road, I don't have to worry about remembering my bookmarks and such. This was easy, as there is a 'mobile' version of FireFox designed specifically for this purpose.
Then I thought it would be nice to have an instant messenger service (preferably Microsoft's only because I use hotmail). But I can't find a way to install this software and be able to use it on multiple computers.
Any suggestions?

Have you seen the whole Suite of Portable Apps:
http://portableapps.com/
Miranda IM Portable version 0.6.8 has been released. For the unfamiliar, Miranda IM Portable is the customizable Miranda IM instant messaging client packaged as a portable app, so you can chat on the go. This new release updates the included Miranda IM binaries to 0.6.8. It's now packaged in PortableApps Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps Suite. Get it from the Miranda IM Portable homepage.

Very cool, exactly what I need. Thanks Steve.
I found some other stuff on that site that I like as well.

Hmm. I might have spoken too soon. I can't figure out how Miranda works with my MSN account. I don't have an AOL/AIM, ICQ or Yahoo Account. Those were the three that were asked for when I first installed Miranda.
