    Mobile phone magnetic cases

    Hi all

Bought myself a new phone and I'd like to protect it.

Most leather cases now seem to have magnetic closures. Has anyone heard of these magnets affecting the phones in anyway?

I realise that the memory should be OK, but wondered if there was any other problems.

I can't think of any way that the very small amount of magnetism in those clasps could affect the phone in the slightest. Indeed I think it would require an extremely large magnetic field, like on an MRI scanner, before anything happened.

A 600KW generator does not bother them. And that will light a 40 watt florescent tube at 6 ft. Hand held to.

Thanks SuperSparks and Train, I couldn't think of a problem but I thought I'd ask just in case. Magnets seemed to be used a lot around mobile phones so I imagine if they caused problems it would have been highlighted
