Change language XP is displayed in?
Is it a simple thing you can do through the regional settings in the control pannel or would you usually have to re install the OS? I know you can have the launguage bar and type in another language but can you change the language that desktop icons are displayed in?

btcomm--Here is just a portion of what is offered by IE Help
"Change Internet Explorer language settings
You can add multiple languages to Internet Explorer to display webpage and Address bar text correctly. Keep in mind that installing languages in Internet Explorer only makes those languages available in websites and the Address bar. To change the language used for Internet Explorer's menus and buttons, you need to install a version of Internet Explorer that is written in the language you prefer.
To add a language to Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the General tab, and then click Languages.
In the Language Preference dialog box, click Add.
In the Add Language dialog box, select a language from the list, and then click OK.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have added all of the languages you want to use.
Click OK three times. "
There is a lot more. In IE Help type "language" in the line on the Index page and follow the instructions. Note tha the webpage has to be written in the foreign language for the above to apply.
However, for the OS to appear in another language, I think you will have to buy a copy of the OS which is specific to the language you want.
