Shutdown Day......
Are you ready for Shutdown Day March 24th?
Could you go for one day without turning your computer on? The challenge has been posed, the gauntlet slapped across our collective faces.
Dennis Bystrov and Michael Taylor decided they were worried about the amount of time modern folks are spending at the keyboards around the world (I know what they mean). So in the tradition of "international talk like a pirate day" have decided to begin a groundswell for a day to ignore our digital buddy.

Anybody planning on participating?
Hell...I just might shut the damn things down for good.....

What, and watch television? Or talk to my wife-never.
The true test of character is not how much we
know how to do, but how we behave when we don't know what to do

I'm about to go to Castaway island in Fiji from 19th March thru 27th March.
Rooms have no VCR, no DVD, no TV, no Stereo, No Radio, No PCs.
So I'm I'll be shutting down my PC on 18th March and not booting it up again until late on 27th March.
So that's 9 days less Green house emmisions for me and severe DTs from not using my PC I'm sure.

That doesn't count Nix.
Lets compare it to a smoker who is trying to quit. Now put the smoker in a closed room with a lit cigarette.
Now obviously if you put him on an island without cigarettes, he won't smoke.
Get the point?

Yes. But I'll still be suffering chronic NOPCitis by the time I get back.
