Is there a good alternative to using Winfax?

Using XP, Word 2003, and Winfax Pro 10.02
I have a new-onset problem in that I can send faxes, but not receive them. Have already tried uninstalling and re-installing. Symantec does not provide support.

Looking for a fax program that you would recommend. I want to be able to send and receive. I like to keep copies for a month. I want to resend/resubmit if requested to do so. I need telephohe log space for 300 addressees. I would like to import telephone logs from Winfax, if possible. I want to be able to type a document in Word, click on print (or fax) and send directly the document on my screen.

In effect, I am looking for the features found in Winfax, without having to deal with Symantec.

Price is not a problem. I need features which will make my life simpler.

    Any suggestions?

I use an older version of this program..

    http://www.bvrp.com/eng/products/FaxToolsexpert/

It has a free trial to test it out. I believe it will do everything you want but I'm not sure about importing the data from Winfax. It does "Import records from an external file" but whether that means from winfax or not you'll just have to try it out I guess.... but you could try and export the data from Winfax into a text file if it can do that and see if that helps

I have used one fax software for many, many years and did not realize there were so many available. When I tried to do a ratings search, all who were purporting to rate seemed to be pushing one product or so.

Has anyone come across an unbiased rating? I would like to see a list of 10 or so software choices and see how some reliable tester rates them and describes their features. Cannot seem to find a rating from Consumer Reports or PC World.

I do not know of unbiased ratings but I use this program and like it very much:

I have a version that came OEM with a sound card I installed on the PC. The version I have is not full featured but does an excellent job none the less. The OEM version is called FAX Talk Communicator and came on a CD with an ESS sound card. I would imagine the full featured versions on the linked page above would be excellent products.

Have reviewed descriptions of several fax utilities, but cannot get a complete description without downloading them. I have downloaded two, which seem to be missing a feature which I need.

I might type a 20-page document and want to fax pages 1-3 to one recipient, pages 4-6 to different recipient, etc. Winfax allowed me to do that. Cannot seem to find another fax utility which allows me to designate which pages go to a particular recipient.

If you know of one which will do so, let me know.

    Follow-up:

I have just done some preliminary testing on a fax utility which seems to have most, if not all, of the features of winfax. It is called snappy fax and it is working out well, so far.

Thanks to all who gave recommendations.
