Vista Installed!
Oh yes
Vista Ultimate OEM 32-bit 11.2GB initial install
It only took about 25 minutes. Wow indeed
Dual booting working well.
Everything OK now but I had some trouble getting an audio driver to make my speakers work. The newest (Vista) driver from Realtek gave me sound, but none for the speakers. I eventually found another driver on the Alienware site which works.
I am just finding my way around, but I like it so far apart from the UAC annoyances which I am going to try to configure better. So far it has been kind enough not to actually deny me access to anything, even from XP on the other partition.
It is pretty and very fast, I`d say it is faster than XP. No programs installed yet apart from NOD32 which is sitting quietly in the sys tray and not bothering me at all.
I`ll spare you any more ramblings, bit I like it!!
I`m away to play again.

I'm glad you lkike it Elaine
A word of warning about disabling UAC - I did it for a while while I was installing stuff, and when I went to re-enable it later on (when everything is installed the warnings die right down), I found that it broke IE7, the pages take ages to load, and you can no longer automatically log in to sites such as VDr. I've reported that as a bug, but as such it is still being investigated. Of course it could just be some oddity with my particular installation too.
Nick.

Nick, you have an uncanny habit of shutting the stable door after my horse has bolted.
I disabled UAC too in order to install some programs......what a pain it is, but I can`t remember if I was online after doing so. I`ll check it out later and get back to you. Hope it`s just you

Thing I like most about Vista is speech control! Anyone try it? Works quite well I must say.
