Adding More Fonts - Performance Issue
Hi, everyone,
Need some advice about installing additional fonts in XP.
I am using XP (Home) SP2 on a Intel P4 2.8 Mhz with 1 Gig memory (and 400+ Gig Hard-drives, 100 Gig spare), and would like to install a lot of (300+) new fonts. I remember in the bad old days of Windows, adding fonts of that magnitude would increase time very significantly at start-up of Windows (e.g. Win 3, Win 95, etc).
Is there any noticeable performance penalty for XP now?
Appreciate your advice.
** if there is any difference in the above description of my current hardware/software config and the description on my signature line, the former prevails.

I've read many times that removing fonts is considered a performance tweak...Will you really use all 300 fonts?
You could install em and see how it goes with your setup and make your decissions from there.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.
