password
silly question: It has not happened to me yet.
During the Vista setup, I was asked for a password to log on Vista each time I restart my PC.
In case I forget my password, what should I do?
Thank you

Go into Control Panel | User Accounts and Family Safety | User Accounts. You can create a password reset disk there, and possibly also export your encryption certificate (if you're planning to encrypt files then that's an absolute must in any case, otherwise don't worry about it).
Other than that, you can also use another administrator account to reset your main account's password, or reinstall Windows.
Safe computing is a habit, not a toolkit.

That depends on what you did before you forgot the password! If you wrote down the password and put it in a safe place that you remember, pat yourself on the back.
This is a hypothetical question, isn't it?

Thanks, guys!
I will write my password down, then put it a safe place.
I do not want to go through the process of reinstalling windows.

In Control Panel>User Accounts you can add a password hint if you like. That can help you to remember what your password is in case you forget it. Be careful what you use for a hint though, as it is visible to anyone.
Nick.
