How to burn files to CD using XP?

There is a step I am missing and not sure what it is.

I have an old Dell computer (6 months old) using XP. When I want to write desktop files to a CD, I right-click on the file----->Send to----->Send to D drive and then follow the instructions for writing files to the CD.

I have a new Dell computer (one week old) using XP. I want to burn desktop files to a CD. I right-click on the file----->Send to-----> and there is no link to send to D Drive.

Why don't I have a link to the D drive when I want to send to?

Guessing that you have Roxio on the older pc and it added the send to option.

You must have peaked at my list of programs. I do, in fact, have Roxio on the old computer and not on the new computer. Will load Roxio onto the new one and see what happens.

Hello aob

I think "Send to the CD Drive" should be there by default. You can add it yourself.

Here is how to add anything to the "Send to" Menu

The SendTo folder is hidden by default. If it is not visible, in Windows Explorer on the Tools menu, click Folder Options. On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders. Apply

Then
1.Double-click the Documents and Settings folder.

2.Double-click the folder of a specific user.
eg. C:\Documents and Settings\'User Name'\Sendto

3.Double-click the SendTo folder.

4.On the File Menu, point to New, and then click Shortcut.

5.Follow the instructions on your screen.

Go to the My Computer>Folder Options>View tab, and select "Show hidden files and folders", and then uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".
