Liam, got this a short time ago from the Wilder's Forum:

This Acronis TI link describes version 9 in detail(the version I have build 3677)
    http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/co...6-15-1ati.html
AND this link has version 10 and others(got this from Wilders ATI Forums)
    http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=29880

I hope these will be of help to ya and I think #3 is your ticket to your answer. All of this is good to save and that is what I once did.

Thanks a million buf, i found a snippet in the first guide that was useful:

One nice thing about Acronis True Image that sets it apart from competing products is that when you load it from the bootable Rescue CD, Acronis True Image loads completely into RAM. So if you only have a single optical drive installed, you can remove the Rescue CD to insert the discs containing your backups without having to worry about swapping the Rescue CD in and out during the restore process.
Looks like i'm good to go, one other thing i thought i'd mention, i was fiddling with hard drives earlier and i set my 200gb maxtor to slave to backup some bits onto my main drive and the system failed to boot, so i fiddled, and eventually i got it going only to see a S.M.A.R.T warning that the drive is about to fail so that's 2 in a week, so that is even more reason to get acronis sorted at the rate i'm going this primary drive will pack in anytime.

That, my friend, is great news---you're good to go
Not good that you are losing two drives so quickly. Now, I doubly hope your backup is what you want and need it to be.

I don' know how the Recovery tree looks from the boot disk, never having to restore from a DVD. However, I just checked, your recovery screen shows the complete tree, optical drives. card slots if any and an USB memory stick. I presume all these could be the source for the recovery. Hope this helps.

The only thing i lost was a film i backed up, i didn't like the menu, and edited it in Ulead DVD Movie Factory, no biggie, i have the film on DVD, it was just an edit, and now i get to do it again.

And thanks x71s8zTN, i found out that you can load backups from a USB pen drive when i had a quick snoop through the user guide earlier, it really is a nice piece of software that you can image and then back it up to any media with ease, kudos Acronis, and thanks for the help guys, this thing is a keeper!

Well, i had some boot problems last week, loaded the image, hey presto all working fine, just a quick one, does the image lock to the hardware? I was wondering about OEM XP, if i added a new hard drive, or even a TV Card, and had to load an image, would XP pick up on new hardware changes and complain?
