Cool Windows Aero: confused about graphics card requirements

I'm considering a new notebook, and the graphics card I see for the majority of those in my price range is "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950."

A search on yahoo has given me conflicting reports on whether this card supports the Windows Aero Glass visuals that are part of Vista. Some sites say it does; some say it doesn't. The various notebook mfr's sites aren't much of a help either. Some show that systems with this card are "Windows Vista capable" while others show those systems as "Windows Vista Premium ready."

Is there anything definitive out there, or will we only know for sure after we install Vista?

I've seen glass running on a GMA950. You need to make sure it's using enough system RAM though.

I suspect once Vista comes out next week you'll be able to look at one in the shops and be certain that it works with actual RTM vista on the actual laptop you want.

"Windows Vista Premium ready" is what you need to look for to be certain that you'll be able to get Aero Glass. So if you make sure that you buy a notebook that states that then you can't go wrong.
