Audio Production Software
Hi,
I'm currently looking for an alternative to Adobe Audition. This application has everything I need to re-sample audio, edit audio, and much more. It's perfect, except for one thing...
Adobe Audition, it seems, uses hardware acceleration for it's interface. It doesn't run well on some computers. At work, for example, it runs terribly slow. At home, on my x64 machine, it seems to run smoothly. Another complaint is that it doesn't have an x64 version.
I'm looking for an alternative that has the same fancy look, but doesn't put as much resource overhead on the operating system. Here's my "wish" list:
1) Loads fast
2) Looks pretty
3) Performance friendly
4) (optional) Has an x64 version
5) Offers the same features, or more
I don't care how expensive it is, I'm only concerned about features. I'm just interested in seeing what you guys suggest. Thanks!

Sony Sound Forge is one of the industry standards..

I'm unable to find out definitively though if it's x64 compatible.
I've used it and it's not terribly resource hogging but I've never used Adobe Audition so I can't make a direct comparison. There is a trial version though.

Thank you, I had considered soundforge but wanted to get opinions first.
PS: Apologies for posting in the incorrect forum.

Suggests FlexiMusic Composer, a multi-track program for composing, editing and mixing of music using sampled instrument sounds.
