    Talking Minor Annoyance

    Hi,
Not sure if this is the right forum.
I have a 19" LCD Viewsonic and when I boot up I get this message:

    Resolution Notice
For best picture quality change resolution to 1280 x 1024.
    Press "1" to clear message
    Press "2" to disable message

Niether of these choices does anything and while 1280 x 1024 does produce a great picture the "ole eyeballs" arn't that good anymore. Any suggestions on getting rid of the message?

    Thanks
    LXI or 20+20+1

I was going to suggest pressing 2 but....then I read your post again.

With the setting at 1280 x 1204 have your tried changing the font size ?

Right Click on Desktop > Properties > Appearance > Font Size > Large or Extra Large

Our home PC screen is 19" set at 1280 x 1024 and whilst my eldest son and I have our accounts set at Normal font, my wife who wears glasses has changed hers to Large font.

Ooops forum glitch posted Train's reply 3 times.

Maybe it was deliberate so that it was not missed on a screen set at 1280 x 1024

That is tooooo cool! Worked quite well on my 19" CRT. It's like someone wiped a smudge off my eyeballs.

There is a few things to change to make old tired eyes see better with higher resolutions. On mine, I have changed the DPI setting to 120%, incresed font size and Icon sizes. To change DPI setting, right click desktop, chose properties, then the Settings tab, then press the Advanced button on the General tab, click on the down arrow for DPI and change to a suitable setting. Then back to the Appearance tab, then Advanced button in there, you can change font sizes on desktop icons, message windows, message box, etc. The point is, you can use a larger resolution and change settings to accommodate your eyesight.

Thank you all!! Now it doesn't seem like I'm 15 feet away from my LCD!
