    mouse cleaning...not house cleaning!!

My Microsoft mouse...a 2 button/scroll/ball version...several years old...had been giving me fits...not very responsive...very difficult to precisely control the cursor. I had taken compressed air...taken the ball out...blown out the insides...very little improvement. So I figured that it was just worn out. Then...I took the ball out again and I saw my problem ( just missed it before). Lint had built up on the two small rollers and the little wheel where the ball makes contact. I cleaned the lint off...and VOILA!! PRESTO!!...a new mouse! It's now super smooth...just like new.

Amazing what a little bit of cleaning can do ..saved myself some money!!

Yes it is, and a bit of 90+% rubbing ACHOHOL [no additives] on a Q-Tip while doing that works wonders.

Call Microsoft and tell them that your mouse is acting up If you have the numbers off the bottom they will send you a new one. I have heard many people do this and you don't even have to send them your old one.
common sense isn't all that common

Sorry,,couldn't help myself. But prices what they are,you might consider a replacement in the optical categorysuch as my fav Logitech optical. Then you can just forget about the 'gonads'?

    Ha!!! Good one!!

I looked at a couple of opticals when I thought that my mouse had gone bad but I didn't see enough selection to get a good idea of what was available. So far the mouse is as smooth as butter but I'll keep your recommendation in mind.

BTW: I haven't forgotten about "them"...but I think that "they" have forgotten me!!

We better "cool it"...the mods might make us sit in the corner for a while...
