Lullaby songs
I have been singing this song to my little Granddaughter. I have known this song for all of my life and never really thought much about it...but it's a real strange song....
Rock a bye baby, on the tree top,
When the wind blows the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.
What does it mean..

What got me thinking about that song are the Christmas songs...and, dang it.. ....I can't think of any specific song at this moment..but a lot of the songs have references to days ( years, decades), gone by...everyday items and such that were common when the song was written...but which are not known today.
Can any of ya'll think of any?
