how to code
sorry didnt know where to put this post
i have a website and would like people to upload there videos to the site.
How would i write a program to do this task on the fly, i mean convert the video file from avi, mpeg whatever to swf and have it going online with that file just created
what program would i use
Just cause it's expensive dont mean it's good

Google "convert to SWF" and you'll get quite a few results as the links below... a few things out there. But an all-in-one solution may be a bit more difficult to find and most likely cost prohibitive....

you may well find a program to convert avi's to swf. i used to have one myself. but writing a program that will convert avi's to swf's automatically after people upload video's? i would suggest you spend the next few years learning computer science and write a program yourself

The first instance of this happening ever that I have seen was YouTube. The real dilemma would be getting the processing power to do it. You're talking about a dedicated server at least, and if you became successful you'd be doing a lot of upgrading!
