    Exclamation [98] Display glitch in Win98SE

    Hi, and thanks for listening!
    Friends have a puter that only shows 2 over-sized desktop icons (super-large!).
    They can not get to an area of the screen that will let them change the display setting. (task bar, control panel, my computer properties-will not work).
    Can a command be entered in RUN that will change the display properties to something that is usable?

    Try going through Control Panel | Display, it's the same menu.

    as I said...they can not get to any area to affect a change.
    They don't have a display icon on the taskbar either.

    Sorry about that--try CTRL+ALT+ESC to bring up the Start menu.

    Boot Safe Mode (tap F8 repeatedly on bootup and select Safe Mode)
    It should be better.
    Go to Control Panel - Display - Appearance tab
    Set the scheme to Windows Standard.
    Click OK & reboot
    Friends don't let friends use Internet Explorer!
