For power users,
Would not consider 512 MB, plenty, for Windows.
With that said,
Areas to look at,
Event Viewer for any unusual activities logged.
Run Check disk for any irregularities,
Run a thorough scan with a decent and up to date Antivirus.
eg. Kaspersky, NOD32, F-Secure...
