    Resolved [RESOLVED]I don't understand this

What is the tern HOSTID mean, and is it the same as a MAC address
when I go to Run and type cmd then IP config I get this:

IP address #= 9 number string

Subnet Mask #= 10 number string

Default Gateway #= 10 number string

Which one of these is the HOSTID or MAC number,
and are string of numbers for the subnet mask or Default Gateway the same in quantity? what I mean is my DSL SBC Yahoo (2Wire modern) have 10 numbers
but some other DSL modem and providers may have more numbers? Like 12 or more yes!
    Thx

Use the following command from command prompt:

    > ipconfig /all

hostid is the MAC address -- "Physical Address of Ethernet
Interface" displayed by the above command.

    BIG JOHN Thank you !
I did exactly what you've suggested but this time it worked, and got the info I needed.
I seldom use command prompt that I forgot where it is, and for that matter how to use it
