    arcsoft video impression

    hi
    I ve been making a movie from a dvd
    using arcsoft vid impression

    it was only 4 mins long but its come out
    at 500 od meg

    I pressed compression and chose windows compression

    wot did I do wrong ?

    is there any software that will compress it
    what is best mp4 or something ?

    I m confused

    Are you trying to make a file that's ideal for sharing over the internet? Try http://www.divx.com
    The free options are 'good enough' and if you like it you can buy the full version.

    i ve got div x it plays in there ok

    but at the end its still an 800 meg file when really
    with the right compression it could be about 21 meg
    then I could easily put it up into rapid share
    or speedy share if I wanted to share with anyone.

    800 meg might take some time to upload !

    Windows movie maker can compress it to about a tenth of that size (wmv compression). I've never used ARCsoft but is there an option to reduce the bitrate? or frame size? If so that would decrease the file size accordingly.

    MY windows movie maker is nt working properly
    I can t import movie files into it
    I d delete the software and reinstall it
    but its bundled in with windows service pack

    there must be a video converter out there somewhere
