[RESOLVED] Dell Keyboard Problem
Hi all,
I've recently purchased a Dell Dimension 3100c and it's working fine apart from the keyboard.
The problem is that when the @ key is pressed the " symbol appears and
vice versa.
The keyboard is set to enhanced 102 key which I believe is the correct UK setting.
It's not a serious problem but it is pretty irritating!
Any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem?
Thanks in advance,
John

Yes indeed. You have Windows set for the US keyboard layout. Go to Control Panel>Regional and Language Options, then in the Language tab click "Details". Set "English (United Kingdom)" for the default input language, and make sure that "United Kingdom" is set for the keyboard under "Installed Services".

place some tape over the @ key and write " on it and vice versa,
just kidding!
It seems that keyboards get quirky in the UK. Most of my googling leads to UK people having problems with layout. Try setting to 105 key layout or switching to a US setting.
supersparks types too quickly on his keyboard, hence his replies appear faster than mine!
