Is MSWord compatible with WordPerfect
I am using xp and MS Word 2003. I received a document, as an email attachment, from someone who is using WordPerfect. When I tried to open the attachment, a window popped giving me two choices: I could purchase wordperfect or I could try it for 60 days. I read the small print which indicated that after the 60-day period of time, even if WordPerfect were removed from my computer, a remnant would remain for viewing purposes. Even this window could not be removed. I had to reboot my computer to get rid of the window, which was trying to launch Wordperfect, even as I was shutting down.
I have no intention of buying Wordperfect. I do not want a free trial, resulting in a remnant of Wordperfect remaining on my computer for life.
Is there a way to open and view these wordperfect documets without buying or launching?

Fed up with UK 0870 Phone Numbers
Backup Boogaloo, you know it makes sense to do.
