error message - rundll32.exe
i was helping a buddy of mine install some software on his pc. the last thing that i installed for him was mcafee anti virus.
i ran the anti virus program after installing and it popped up that he had the funlove.gen virus. the virus has infected or corrupted the file rundll32.exe. he just bought the pc used and so he doesnt have any windows 98 disk or back up or any other disks. can any one tell me where i can get another rundll32.exe from ( download ) and what do when i get it to get his system back running correctly ?
he is able to still open his browser and surf the web but i was unable to open some stuff on his pc such as "add/remove programs" etc etc .
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
kyle

If you have the same operating system then you should be able to copy the one from your computer into his. In your computer put in a floppy and then right click on rundll32.exe and select 'send to 3 1/2 floppy' and it'll copy the file onto the floppy. In his computer right click on rundll32.exe and rename it rundll32.OLD. Then insert the floppy and open windows explorer and copy the file into his windows folder.
Here's Mcafee info on removing the funlove virus:

Here's Symantec's removal instructions and a fix tool:

If after replacing rundll32.exe you still can't run any programs then the EXEfix08 .reg file here may help:
